The SpeedBox 1.5 is the solution you need if you’re looking for increased performance from your Bosch SX VAE. Designed for seamless integration, it allows you to optimise assistance speed without compromising the aesthetics of your bike. Compatibility

  • Designed specifically for 4th generation Bosch Performance Line SX engines (models BDU3144, BDU3145).
  • Compatible with EABs equipped with a magnet on the valve (Bosch Rim Magnet) and the latest version of Bosch software.
  • Please note: Not compatible with standard magnets, ABS systems or the SpeedBox application.

Features

  • This module removes the speed limit from the electric assistance. Although the speed can be unlimited, a maximum speed of 35 km/h is recommended to minimise error codes.
  • Tuning can be activated or deactivated using the WALK assist function on your VAE or by pressing the – + – + button combination.
  • When tuning is activated, an indication of 3.5 km/h is displayed; 2.5 km/h when deactivated.
  • After the countdown procedure, the distance travelled will be correctly displayed.

Installation and maintenance

  • Installation is designed to be simple, using your EAB’s original connectors, which makes the process much easier and reduces the risk of error.
  • Detailed instructions and videos are available to guide you step by step.
  • We recommend that you ride a new bike for at least 10 km before activating the tuning.
  • Crucial tip: Only activate/deactivate tuning when the EAB is stationary, not when riding. After each ride, leave the bike on until the display shows 0.0 km/h. It is also recommended not to update the firmware of your EAB to avoid detection of the tuning.

How it works

SpeedBox 1.5 intervenes by modifying the speed information transmitted by the sensor on your EAB to the motor. It acts as an intelligent ‘translator’, making your bike believe that you are travelling at a lower speed than you actually are (for example, 25 km/h instead of 50 km/h). This keeps the electric assistance active well beyond its usual limit. This process ensures smooth, continuous assistance, giving you an enhanced riding experience and the ability to reach higher speeds where permitted.

The SpeedBox 1.5 can be fitted by anyone, without the need for complex tools or advanced technical knowledge. The kit is designed to connect directly to the original connectors on your EAB, making installation almost foolproof. It usually only takes a few minutes to connect the module between the speed sensor and the motor.
