The SpeedBox 3.3 is the ideal solution for cyclists who aspire to go beyond the standard limits of their Giant VAE. It gives you the freedom to ride faster on private land or wherever legislation allows, without compromising the display of essential information. Designed for discreet integration, it doesn’t alter the aesthetics of your bike while boosting its capabilities tenfold. It’s the perfect choice for intelligently optimising the performance of your Giant EAB.
Compatibility
- Designed specifically for Giant EABs equipped with SyncDrive Pro 2 (85 Nm) and RideControl Go, or SyncDrive Sport 2 (75 Nm) and RideControl Dash.
- Please note: Not compatible with SyncDrive Sport (70 Nm), SyncDrive Core, SyncDrive Life, SyncDrive (2017-2021) with 80 Nm, and the SpeedBox application.
Features
- Unlimited unbridling: This module removes the speed limit from the electric assistance, giving you an unlimited maximum speed. A speed of 50 km/h is recommended for an optimal experience.
- Setting the speed limit: You can set your own electric assistance speed limit.
- Displaying real data: once the SpeedBox has been installed, your EAB’s screen will display precise data such as maximum and average speeds, daily mileage and remaining range.
- Activation/Deactivation: Tuning can be activated or deactivated by using the WALK assist function on your VAE (the display will show 5.0 km/h and you will be able to travel at up to 50 km/h). To deactivate it, reactivate the WALK assist function (the display will change to 2.5 km/h and the limit will return to 25 km/h). For EABs without a WALK button, use the – + – + combination.
Installation and maintenance
- Installation is remarkably simple, thanks to coloured connectors that cannot be misplaced.
- Detailed instructions and installation videos are available to guide you step by step.
- The module is easy to disassemble if necessary.
- Crucial tip: It is recommended that you ride a new bike for at least 10 km before activating the tuning. After each ride, leave the EAB switched on until the display shows 0.0 km/h before switching it off.
How it works
SpeedBox 3.3 intelligently interposes itself into your EAB’s system to modify the speed sensor signal before it reaches the motor. This allows you to bypass the default speed limit, by making the bike’s system believe that you’re travelling at a lower speed than you actually are. In this way, the electric assistance remains active beyond its usual limit. You can even set your own assistance speed limit by changing the modes (three levels down, then three levels up). This system guarantees smooth, continuous assistance for a powerful, personalised ride.
Assembly
Assembly of the SpeedBox 3.3 has been designed so that anyone can do it, without the need for complicated tools or advanced technical knowledge. The kit is designed to connect directly to the original connectors on your EAB, making installation almost foolproof. It usually only takes a few minutes to connect the module. Comprehensive guides and video tutorials are available to support you every step of the way, ensuring that installation is quick and safe.
